Seck-Eng TAN
Founder and Managing Partner

Seck-Eng Tan is primarily responsible for the investment management activities of Aestus Capital. Seck-Eng has amassed over 28 years of VC, PE and other alternative investing experience in the US and Europe. Prior to founding Aestus Capital in 2019, Seck-Eng previously served as Managing Director, focusing on Global Equities (public and private) at the David & Lucile Packard Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation in October 2008, he held positions as Director of Investments at the James Irvine Foundation and Senior Vice President at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) Special Investments, the private equity arm of GIC. Seck-Eng holds both a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and is a CFA charterholder.

Albert CHIANG
Venture Partner

Albert Chiang joined Aestus Capital as a Venture Partner in 2022. He is primarily responsible for originating and underwriting select fund and co-investment opportunities. Chiang has over 20 years of experience in private capital strategies including direct investing, deal origination, fund manager selection and portfolio construction. He is currently a Managing Director at Hatcheri Capital and a member of the Finance (Investment) Committee of the Leo M. Shortino Family Foundation. He previously served as Managing Director, Private Equity at Sobrato Capital, a $1B+ single family office, and as Partner at Bay Hills Capital, a specialist fund-of-funds and separate account manager focused on North American small-cap buyout emerging and established fund managers. His direct investing experience includes early stage, growth and buyout investments at FTV Capital and Catterton Partners.

Chiang holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
